Prepare for an extraordinary journey through the heart of East Africa, where breathtaking landscapes, remarkable wildlife encounters, vibrant cultures, and unforgettable adventures come together to create the ultimate African safari experience. This carefully designed 20-day expedition takes you across four of East Africa’s most iconic destinations Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, and Rwanda offering an exceptional blend of primate tracking, classic wildlife safaris, tropical beach relaxation, and cultural immersion.

Your adventure begins in Uganda, famously known as the “Pearl of Africa,” where lush rainforests, spectacular waterfalls, and incredible biodiversity provide the perfect introduction to the region. Explore the magnificent Murchison Falls National Park, where the mighty River Nile squeezes through a narrow gorge before plunging dramatically into the depths below. Enjoy thrilling game drives across vast savannah plains and unforgettable boat cruises that bring you face-to-face with hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and an abundance of birdlife.

The journey continues to the enchanting rainforests of Kibale Forest National Park, home to one of Africa’s highest concentrations of primates. Here, you’ll embark on a memorable chimpanzee tracking experience, observing our closest relatives in their natural habitat while learning about the forest’s rich ecosystem. Community visits and nature walks further enrich your understanding of Uganda’s culture and conservation efforts.

One of the defining moments of the expedition awaits in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and sanctuary to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Trek through ancient rainforest under the guidance of expert trackers to encounter a habituated gorilla family in the wild. Sharing a precious hour with these gentle giants is widely regarded as one of the most profound wildlife experiences on Earth and remains a highlight for travelers from around the world.

From the forests of Uganda, the adventure transitions to the idyllic shores of Zanzibar Island in Tanzania. Surrounded by the warm turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, Zanzibar offers a refreshing contrast to the safari experience. Relax on pristine white-sand beaches, discover the fascinating history of Stone Town, explore fragrant spice plantations, and enjoy unforgettable sunset dhow cruises. Snorkeling excursions, marine adventures, and encounters with the island’s unique wildlife create the perfect balance of exploration and relaxation.

The safari then moves to Kenya’s legendary Maasai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife destinations. Vast golden plains stretch endlessly across the horizon, supporting extraordinary concentrations of wildlife including lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, cheetahs, and rhinos. Depending on the season, guests may witness the spectacular Great Wildebeest Migration, often referred to as the “Greatest Wildlife Show on Earth.” Optional hot-air balloon safaris provide a unique perspective of the Mara’s breathtaking landscapes and abundant wildlife.

Further enhancing the Kenyan experience, a visit to Lake Naivasha offers opportunities to enjoy peaceful boat excursions among hippos and water birds, as well as guided nature walks that showcase the beauty of the Great Rift Valley ecosystem.

The final chapter of the expedition unfolds in Rwanda, affectionately known as the “Land of a Thousand Hills.” Here, stunning mountain scenery, rich cultural traditions, and inspiring conservation stories create a fitting conclusion to the journey. Explore the magnificent landscapes surrounding Volcanoes National Park, home to the endangered Golden Monkeys and the famous Virunga Mountains. Cultural encounters provide meaningful insight into Rwanda’s remarkable resilience, heritage, and development.

A visit to Akagera National Park introduces travelers to Rwanda’s thriving savannah ecosystem, where successful conservation initiatives have restored populations of the Big Five and numerous other wildlife species. Scenic game drives through rolling plains, woodlands, lakes, and wetlands offer excellent wildlife viewing opportunities while showcasing another side of Rwanda’s natural beauty.

The journey concludes in Kigali, one of Africa’s cleanest, safest, and most progressive cities. Through visits to cultural sites, artisan markets, and historical landmarks, guests gain a deeper appreciation for Rwanda’s extraordinary transformation and hopeful future.

Throughout the expedition, guests will experience a carefully balanced combination of luxury, adventure, nature, culture, and relaxation. From tracking endangered mountain gorillas and chimpanzees in ancient rainforests, to witnessing iconic African wildlife on open savannahs, unwinding on tropical beaches, and engaging with welcoming local communities, this itinerary captures the very essence of East Africa.
