The 3Days Nyungwe Chimpanzee Trekking safari is an exciting adventure which takes you to Rwanda’s remarkable safari Destination. You will enjoy a tremendous wealth of experience with activities including the renowened canopy walk and chimpanzee Trekking. Nyungwe forest National park is Africa’s largest Afro-montane forest established as a National park in 2004 and it is located in the South Western region of Rwanda in the Boarder with Burundi . This park is famous for chimpanzee trekking which share 98.8% of human DNA. The park has 2 habituated groups, the largest group having 60 chimpazees and small group having 30 chimpanzees.
The park also boosts of about 13 primates including the famous chimpanzees, hamlyn’s monkeys,silver monkeys,awl-faced monkeys, golden monkeys, Angola colobus grey-cheeked mangabeys ,red-tailed monkeys,vervet monkeys and L’Hoest monkeys. The park also accommodates over 300 bird species and 29 of them are Albertine Rift Endemics. Nyungwe forest not only has birds and primates but also about 85 mammal species including serval cats, congo clawless otter, mangoose,Eastern Needle-clawed Galaga,Golden cat Bosman’s potto,Marsh mangoose,Giant Forest Hog and leopard.

The 3Days Nyungwe chimpanzee Trekking safari will start with apick from Kigali international Airport or your hotel by our professional driver guide from pelican tours and travel who will meet and greet you, he will then brief you about your entire journery and thereafter proceed for about 6hours drive to Nyungwe forest national park with a lunch stopover enroute. This drive will offer you stunning views of the thousand hills of Rwanda.
You will check in at your accommodation in Nyungwe freshenup. You will enjoy adelicious dinner and relax preparing for the adventures ahead.
You will wake up early have breakfast at the lodge. Head to the park headquarters for a briefing on chimpanzee trekking permits. Your thrilling chimpanzee trekking expedition into the dense Nyungwe Forest with experienced guides will begin. Morning observing and photographing the fascinating chimpanzees in their behavior and conservation efforts. After the trek, enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the scenic surroundings of the forest. In the Afternoon, embark on a guided nature walk to explore the diverse flora and fauna of Nyungwe Forest with the chance to encounter.
After breakfast, gear up for an exhilarating canopy walk experience, suspended high above the forest floor on a series of suspension bridges and platforms. Marvel at the break taking aerial views of Nyungwe Forest and its inhabitants including monkeys, birds, and butterflies. Conclude your canopy walk return to the lodge for a refreshing lunch. Check out of your accommodation and bid farewell to Nyungwe National park.
Embark on the journey back to Kigali with enroute stops for scenic viewpoints and cultural encounters. Arrive in Kigali in the late afternoon where you may have the option to explore local markets, visit museums or indulge in a city tour.
